She Wondered Why?

Once upon a time, 

Royal happiness was flooding,      

'The Royal Times'

With the headlines announcing 

Arrival of a little prince charming.

Everyone was frolic, waiting for the heir to the throne 

Little did they realize that their dreams will be torn. 

When finally the day arrived, it was soon analyzed 

She was a princess to be mourned, not a prince to be shown. 

She was nothing, but a topic, an issue of discussion 

Her life was soon full of gloom, As none wanted her to bloom. 

She kept on crying with fear, 

But they couldn't kill her due to god's fear. 

Why there is no homes for girls? 

Where they are happy and treasured like pearls. 

Why she is not born as a boy? 

So that, like them, she could also enjoy. 

Tell me, O' you tell me her offence 

For which she bore this ugly indifference? 

Like time suspended and a wound unmended 

For all her life, miserably, she wondered why??
