Deception

I understand completely. I've been in a similar situation before, and I know how important it is for you to present yourself in the best possible light. Whether it's the life you've been living or simply trying to survive, we all crave love and attention.

But even with the goodness in our hearts and minds, insecurities have a way of sneaking in. You start with small exaggerations, still being true to yourself but with a polished shine. You enjoy it, so you make a few more tweaks. A few more lies, a touch more photoshop, a handful of excuses, and a little bit more of everything. Before you know it, the real you, who was probably pretty amazing, to begin with, becomes unrecognisable. Forget the vast unknown world, but the pain it has been causing you. Is it truly worth it? While you may believe that the world deserves this deception, considering it as the root cause, have you stopped to question whether you deserve it as well?

Here's something to consider: it's not just about deceiving yourself or the indifferent unknowns. There's that someone else on the receiving end of that falsehood. The someone who falls in love with a version of you that doesn't actually exist. And that's just not fair because it can only end in disappointment for them. And for you, it will only lead to heartbreak.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that love doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to be honest and perfect for you.

The world won't be kind enough to stop being mad at you and understand your reasons behind the façade. So why put yourself through the pain of maintaining this charade, the heartbreak that follows, and the guilt of hurting someone? Life isn't about appearances, and lies are not the makeup that can cover it up.
