The Love that Must Not Be a Story
Misunderstand not me again, beloved mine,
For my love ran deep, beyond measure and time.
A blossoming connection, unplanned and rare,
Defying both norms and cosmic affairs.
Oh, how often my thoughts wander,
Dreaming of a reality where it could be true.
Yet I recognize the multitude of reasons,
Why it mustn't be, no matter how I rue.
So, I made the painful choice to depart,
Even in this poem, struggling to bid adieu.
To safeguard our serenity and peace of heart,
For our fates intertwined were never meant to last.
I didn't wish to fight a battle we couldn't win,
To lose not just in love, but in all we hold dear.
I know you read this, perhaps filled with hate,
But haven't I always spoken of it in so many ways?
Please, never return to me, I implore,
No talks, no fights, nor lingering stays,
Our path was arduous, we cannot retrace,
For we lack the strength to endure it again.
Let us cherish the memories we shared,
And embrace the future we must forge alone.
For the love that must not be a story declared,
A chapter closed, a narrative.., let it be unknown.
